Overview

NetApp E-Series Installation

 The NetApp E-Series Installation Service includes the planning, installation, base configuration, and verification necessary to install a new NetApp E-Series controller.

This installation is scheduled and performed during normal Business Hours.

 

Features

 CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sufficient rack space and power in the datacenter to install and power the E-Series system. Please reference the arrow E-Series Installation Workbook for Power and Rack requirements for your environment.

• E-Series Installation Workbook to be completed by Engineer and Customer on Design Call.

• All Customers must register an account on the NetApp Website here http://now.netapp.com so they have access to download their software. Your controller serial number will be required to register and can be found on the Sales Order as well as on the side of the box the controller came in. It will take at least 24 hours in order for NetApp to validate your credentials.

• Outbound/Upstream network connectivity is in place and configured prior to the engineer being onsite

• Host, Switches, and HBA’s Hardware and FW versions are validated by the customer through the NetApp Interoperability Matrix at http://now.netapp.com/matrix/ for Server model and BIOS, OS Patch level, HBA Driver, and Firmware version and updated as needed. Host network and Fabric connectivity is configured and in place prior to engineer being onsite.

PROVIDER RESPONSIBILITIES

Initiation Phase – Project Kickoff

• Setup Customer Kickoff Introduction Meeting 

– Propose preliminary dates for engineer call and onsite service 

– Assign Resources and Schedule Design Call; 

– Send out Kickoff Meeting minutes with Action items

• Engineer to Document implementation plan and send to customer for acceptance.

Install Standard Configuration for NetApp E-Series

• Unbox and inventory equipment

• Install rail kit into rack

• Install (1) NetApp E-Series

  • Turn on power to NetApp equipment
  • Verify system components are operating as designed
  • Complete “Setup” on Storage Controller
  • Configure the following as needed:
    • Configure default gateway
    • Configure Subnet Mask
    • Configure IP Address
    • Configure Santricity.



• Install into rack, no shelf installation is included

• Install power cables

• Install up to 60 disks

ASSUMPTIONS

  • Arrow engineers will have the appropriate level of physical as well as remote access to customer staff and hardware as required to complete the project
  • All Equipment and licenses will be onsite prior to implementation
  • All network connections will be in place
  • All work will be completed in one physical location.

ENGAGEMENT PLANNING & MANAGEMENT

  • The following planning tasks will be performed:
  • Minimum lead time for scheduling is 10 business days, all work done during business hours
    • Additional fee for expedited scheduling of less than 10 business days will apply
    • Additional fee for onsite services outside of standard delivery map
    • Additional fee for services outside of business hours
  • Coordinate kickoff and close out calls
  • Create/distribute escalation and contact lists
  • Facilitate Change Orders.

OUT OF SCOPE

  • Configuration, installation, or testing of any portion of the data network is considered out of scope
  • Implementing software to provide backup and recovery functions
  • Any additional hardware, software, or network configuration.
  • Any change to the hardware, software, or network configuration.
  • Modification of the customer’s application software.
  • Fabric switch zoning (unless applicable to switch install SKU).
  • Active Directory tasks
  • DNS tasks
  • Host level support
  • Development of custom solutions including without limitation, scripting.
  • Multiple, basic installation services requiring project management services.
  • Validating or verifying optimal application environment operations.
  • roubleshooting existing problems or issues.
  • Trash Removal (unless customer provides access to on-site).

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Any sale of services will be subject to Arrow's standard Terms and Conditions of Sale or a Services Agreement as negotiated between the parties.

ADD-ON EXTENSION SERVICES FOR NETAPP EXXXX SERIES CONTROLLER

Disk Shelf Add On: (if purchased) ACS-NET-VEL-DS-ADD-NAPS

Configure the # of additional disk shelves purchased.

Hosts Add On: (if purchased)

ACS-NET-VEL-EHOST(X)-ADD-NAPS

Configure the # of additional hosts purchased on top of the RIS using the Matrix (increments of 5, 10, & 15) (NetApp only supported WinTel and Unix systems)

    • Install SANtricity using the NetApp compatibility matrix for appropriate version
    • Setup and configure the proper network interface based upon the customer’s purchase; (e.g. iSCSI. FCP, SAS, IB) make sure to setup and configure the NetApp supported Multipath (MPIO) software.
    • Using SANtricity Connect to the LUN/s created for each host (#of LUNs to be connect in each installation is defined by the purchase of a RIS and any add on LUNs).

LUN Add On: (if purchased) ACS-NET-VEL- ELUNX-NAPS

Using SANtricity create and configure the # of additional LUNs purchased on top of # included in the chosen RIS and any additional using SKUs from the Matrix (increments of 5, 10, &

15) (NetApp only supported WinTel and Unix systems).
