SmartCache is hosted on HP Smart Array Controllers and can be enabled on HP Smart Array P420i, P420, P421, P430, and P431 Controllers with 1 GB or larger Flash Backed Write Cache (FBWC) for HP ProLiant Gen8 Servers and on HP Smart Array P440ar, P440 and P441 Controllers with 2 GB or larger FBWC for HP ProLiant Gen9 Servers. HP SmartCache features are standard on Smart Array P721m/2 GB, P822/2 GB, P731m/2 GB, P830/4 GB, and P840/4 GB. HP SmartCache is deployed and managed through the same management tool for HP Smart Array—HP Smart Storage Administrator (HP SSA).
